Speak Truth Summit 2020
Speaking Truth to Power

September 19 – Chicago, Illinois

STS20: Speaking Truth to Power

Speak Truth Summit was off to a great inaugural start in October of 2018, bringing together over 50 speakers, 20 providers and vendors, and several wellness providers for 100 attendees over 2 days with 12 panels and 4 wellness workshops.
On September 19, 2020, we will convene again in the South Side neighborhood of Hyde Park in Chicago, where women of color will speak their truth to their own power and advocacy during this intersectional, inclusive, and impactful experience!

Conference Snapshot

Join us for a day-long conference as we engage in a full-circle exploration and experience of self-liberation and self-advocacy in the different aspects of our lives such as the personal and professional spheres as well as systems such as healthcare, education, economy, and communities to which we belong.

Through our “Power Panels" and activations, we will unpack the impact of false narratives of women of color – self-created and imposed. We will then practice how to make our “asks" of our various systems and circles and how to have difficult conversations to advocate for our needs and truths. We will also address how to take deliberate and intentional steps and allow ourselves to shift from surviving to thriving. To end this exploration, we will activate around leaning into our liberation and protecting our continued growth and evolution towards an unapologetic, uncompromising, and authentic life while still being part of our communities and navigators of systems.

Speak Truth always strives to make intentional space for healing and self-care. This year, we are excited to offer our Queen’s Market again, a holistic resource and vendor showcase focused on the needs and support of women of color. Additionally, healers and others practitioners of various disciplines will provide opportunities for wellness support.
